'Flip or Flop' Stars Tarek and Christina El Moussa Split

May 2024 · 2 minute read

After seven years of marriage, the ‘Flip or Flop’ star couple Tarek and Christina El Moussa have announced their split. The HGTV stars’ downfall began around six months ago when Tarek allegedly ran out of his house with a gun. Police and helicopters arrived after reports of a ‘potentially suicidal male’ by neighbors.

The couple has acknowledged the incident and their split in a recent interview with People:

“Like many couples, we have had challenges in our marriage. We had an unfortunate misunderstanding about six months ago and the police were called to our house in an abundance of caution.”

Despite the incident, no violence and no charges took place.

The couple continues to stress the importance of keeping their two kids happy during this hard time. “During the process, we will commit to our kids and be the best parents we can be. We will continue to work through this process civilly and cooperatively, and plan to continue our professional life together.”

Despite the troubled waters, HGTV has confirmed that they plan to keep the show running as planned. While allowing Christina and Tarek to sort things out, reruns will take the place of normally scheduled new episodes until filming can start again.

A rep for HGTV emailed this statement to The Huffington Post:

“We admire and appreciate Tarek and Christina’s great work on ‘Flip or Flop.’ When it comes to matters related to their own family, we respect their privacy and honor any decision that works best for them and their children. HGTV is currently airing episodes of ‘Flip or Flop’ and the series will continue production as scheduled.”

We wish Tarek, Christina, and their family all the best as they work to sort out their private matters.
